Meet Isis Barnes, HealthStreet’s 2015 National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Summer Scholar

HealthStreet would like to welcome Isis Barnes, a recent UF graduate with a degree in biology, who was awarded a prestigious 2015 National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Summer Scholarship. This is the Cottler Lab’s 11th year with the honor of hosting a NIDA Summer Scholar and the team is happy to have Isis on board.

During her 8-week-long internship with HealthStreet at the University of Florida, Isis is assisting with data entry and coding for the NIDA-funded Navigation Study, “Transformative Approach to Reduce Research disparities Toward Drug Users” (R01 DA027951). She is working on a research project that looks at the correlation between mental health or cardiovascular conditions with substance use among Navigation Study participants.
