HealthStreet Spotlight: Meet Lauren Minnick

Please welcome Lauren Minnick, UF HealthStreet’s new Quality Control and Data Entry Specialist. Lauren earned her BA in Anthropology and a certificate in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida in 2012. She previously worked as the regulatory specialist at a clinical research site where she first became interested in health research and decided to pursue her graduate studies in public health.

Lauren is currently completing her MPH with a concentration in Epidemiology at the University of South Florida and will graduate this spring. During the course of her graduate studies, she interned in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala at Primeros Pasos, a non-profit organization that provides healthcare and health education to rural communities. She primarily focused on improving their data collection and QC methods and assisted in fundraising activities.

Lauren enjoys working in a position where she encounters new challenges and has the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of public health. She is a Gainesville native and is excited to have the opportunity to work for an organization that helps to improve the health of the community through access to health services and research.
