Health in Our Community: Dental

• 16% of HealthStreet members reported they are currently concerned about dental health

• Higher rate in Jacksonville than other areas of North Central Florida (22% vs 14%)

• Higher rate among uninsured versus insured (23% vs 12%)

• No major differences by race/ethnicity

• College of Dentistry: there are 1,100 community members with concerns about dental problems; 93% of our members are interested in participating in health research!

UF HealthStreet Visits Florida Capitol to Showcase Program Expansion to 17 Counties

As part of the annual Gator Day celebration in Tallahassee, HealthStreet Manager Vicki Piazza and the HealthStreet team showcased its expansion to President Kent Fuchs, UF College of Medicine Dean Michael L. Good and other community leaders from across the state.

UF HealthStreet to Host Smoking Cessation Class

The Area Health Education Center (AHEC)  at the University of Florida is hosting IQuit: a free tobacco cessation class. The class will be held on March 23, 2016,  4-6 pm. Please read for more information here.

UF HealthStreet To Host Free Therapy Night!

UF HealthStreet to Host Free Therapy Night!

Beginning April 11, HealthStreet will host Free Therapy Night, a program in the UF Equal Access Clinic Network that provides free short-term individual mental health counseling to anyone who is otherwise unable to afford mental health services.

Information for Researchers

HealthStreet offers great services to UF investigators. Community Health Workers meet community members in the field and link them to studies through the coordinator.
