National Cancer Survivors Day

National Cancer Survivors Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of June. It is a day to celebrate life for those who have survived the battle as well as a day to inspire those who have been recently diagnosed. National Cancer Survivors Day is a day for everyone, cancer survivor or not, to unite and celebrate life.  

Cancer survivorship statistics:

• The number of cancer survivors is projected to grow to 26.1 million by 2040, an increase of almost 11 million from 2016.

• Over the next decade, the number of people who have lived 5 years or more after their cancer diagnosis is projected to increase approximately 35%, to 14 million

• 62% percent of survivors are currently 65 years of age or older
