Gaddy

The Cancer Resource Center, run by Mr. Gaddy, is one of the many opportunities for community education and support provided at HealthStreet. The center originally began through Mr. Gaddy’s effort to continue a man-to-man support group for Prostate cancer survivors and those familiar or interested in the disease, and has evolved into a fully equipped facility with plenty of literature on almost all types of cancer. The main goal of the the Cancer Resource Center is to provide the Gainesville community with support and information regarding various forms of cancer, as well as cancer prevention.

For those interested in Prostate cancer support and information, The Prostate Cancer Alliance Inc. meets once monthly at HealthStreet, and anyone is welcome to join! Meetings are typically the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00pm-8: 30pm, and are focused on providing attendee’s with knowledge on Prostate cancer, and fostering a need for awareness. Mr. Gaddy also tries to have a keynote speaker each meeting, to further education. If interested, feel free to join the Prostate Cancer Alliance Inc. for a night of confidentiality, education and awareness, and the opportunity to share your experience!

All in all, as a local community engagement initiative HealthStreet, and the Cancer Resource Center in particular, is committed to reaching community members and changing attitudes regarding health! Mr. Gaddy and the Cancer Resource Center believe that everyone has something to gain or offer!
