UF HealthStreet, a community engagement program of the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, has partnered with the Gainesville Giving Garden to provide fresh, locally grown produce to the HealthStreet H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat) Food Pantry.
This collaboration strengthens ongoing efforts to provide healthy food options in Gainesville by connecting community-grown food directly with individuals and families in need.
The Gainesville Giving Garden is a local, volunteer-driven initiative that cultivates fruits and vegetables specifically to share with the community. Through sustainable gardening practices and collective stewardship, the garden donates its harvest to organizations that support residents facing economic and food access challenges.
Through this partnership, fresh produce grown at the Gainesville Giving Garden will be regularly donated to the H.O.P.E. Food Pantry, enhancing the pantry’s ability to provide healthy food options to HealthStreet participants and the broader community.
