UF HealthStreet, in partnership with Safe Kids North Central Florida led by UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, will host a free bicycle helmet giveaway during its upcoming community health fair on July 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event will provide free bicycle helmets for children and adults of all ages, along with professional helmet fittings to ensure proper safety and comfort. Community members who already own helmets are encouraged to attend, as trained staff will also offer fittings and adjustments.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment between UF HealthStreet and Safe Kids North Central Florida to promote injury prevention and improve community health outcomes. Bicycle-related injuries remain a leading cause of preventable harm, particularly among children, and proper helmet use significantly reduces the risk of head injuries.
The health fair will also offer opportunities for community members to connect with UF HealthStreet team members and learn more about available health resources and services.
The event is free and open to the public. Supplies are limited, and helmets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
