Dear HealthStreet Members,

We know there is growing concern as the outbreak and impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve. Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the communities we serve is at the core of what we do here at HealthStreet. Our team is thinking of you and your family in this time of uncertainty. We want you to know, we are all in this together! While some of our services have been reduced by guidance of the State of Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we can still offer you referrals for medical and social services, including:

• Primary/Dental Care

• Nutritional Assistance

• Vision Care

• Cancer Services

• Mental Health Care

• Employment Assistance

• Housing Assistance

• Education/GED Assistance

• Drug/Alcohol/Substance Abuse Care

• Transportation Assistance

• Childcare/Parenting Assistance

• Legal Services

• Disability Services

• Domestic Abuse Assistance

Our staff is actively monitoring the advisories and the policies and state and local health departments. Please visit the official CDC COVID-19 webpage where you can learn more about COVID-19, how to protect yourself, your family, and access a range of resources.

HealthStreet encourages you to view the most recent Our Community, Our Health Seminar COVID-19 Update: The Public Health and Clinical Perspectives. The two professionals who presented have years of experience; in fact, Dr. Rasmussen is the former CDC Director of Public Health Preparedness.

We remain committed to you! Keep in touch via Twitter, Facebook, email (healthstreet@ufl.edu), or by phone (352-294-4880). The calendar will keep you up to date on all of our activities. Please visit our calendar and website for updated information, guidance, and resources.

Stop the Spread of COVID-19 with

Good Personal Health Habits

• Avoid having close contact with people who are sick.

• Practice social distancing

• If you're sick, stay home; call your doctor before going coming in.

• Use tissues to cover your coughs and sneezes and through the away.

• Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily (tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles)

• If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent and water prior to disinfection.

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

HealthStreet Services

HealthStreet is a community engagement program that connects community members to medical and social services and opportunities to participate in health research at the University of Florida. By completing a health assessment with one of our Community Health Workers, we can provide you with information about low or no-cost services, including eye exams, mental health counseling, dance classes, cooking classes, health support groups, and a clothing closet and toiletry pantry. Your voice is important, and you can be heard by becoming a HealthStreet member!
