Community Health Workers (CHWs) will be at the following locations this week, in addition to other places:+Library Partnership+Gainesville Housing Authority Health FairCHWs are all over the city providing FREE health resources, like Deterra™ Deactivation Bags and NARCAN® Nasal Spray, helping you to know which research studies you may be eligible for, and signing you up to become a HealthStreet member.

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM. We offer a clothing and toiletry closet, and we can provide you with health-related resources and referrals.

Interested in participating in research?Here are a few studies that you can participate in now:+The Development of a Conceptual Model of Emergency Department Utilization among Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Patients Study is exploring reasons deaf and hard-of-hearing people in the local area use the UF Health Gainesville emergency room. Eligible participants must be 18-44 years of age, female, who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or have hearing loss, pregnant with a due date past Jan 2014, and have used UF Health’s ER in Gainesville within the past 3 years. +Pain Relief for OsteoArthritis through Combined Treatment (PROACT) Study is testing whether a five-day course of mindfulness meditation training (MMT) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and their combination, can enhance balance, brain function, and reduce pain. Eligible participants must be 45-85 years old, non-Hispanic White or Black/African American, and experience knee pain.If you are interested in hearing about these or other studies, contact our Study Navigator, Sara, at 352-294-4873.
