Join us for the 9th annual Gambling Disorder Screening Day

In collaboration with the Division on Addiction's Cambridge Health Alliance, at Harvard Medical School, HealthStreet will be providing free screenings.

Gambling Disorder leads to financial, emotional, social, occupational, and physical harms, yet many cases go undetected and untreated. Failure to detect gambling harm is due, in part, to limited screening. Gambling Disorder Screening Day is an international grassroots event designed to increase awareness of gambling harm, and support and encourage screening for Gambling Disorder in a variety of settings.

Community Health Workers

Community Health Workers Needed!

If you are interested in working with HealthStreet for a couple of our initiatives, please call us or send us your resume. We are hiring community members now!

NARCAN® SAVES LIVES

NARCAN® Nasal Spray may counteract the life-threatening effects of an opioid overdose. Since most accidental overdoses occur in a home setting, it was developed for family, friends, and caregivers - with no medical training required.

HealthStreet has partnered with Florida Department of Children and Families to distribute NARCAN® in our community. Call 352-294-4880 today to get your own NARCAN® Nasal Spray.

Research Study Opportunities

Below are a few studies that you can participate in now:

+ The Women Helping Women study is testing whether community health workers (CHWs) who recruit and partner with community members facilitate lung cancer screenings. Eligible participants must be female, 50-80 years of age, and current or former smokers with a smoking history of 20 pack-years.

+ The Family Fit study is seeking feedback on an app in development to increase physical activity for families. Eligible participants must have a child 9-12 years of age and live within 25 miles of UF campus

+ The Misophonia study is examining how the brain processes unpleasant sounds. Eligible participants must be 18-45 years of age and bothered by other people making sounds with their mouth, or nose, such as chewing or sniffing

+ The Truant Youth study is developing a program to encourage youth to attend school and engage in after school activities. Eligible participants must have a child 13-17 years of age that has missed at least 5 days of school in the past 3 months.

+ The ARRIA study is testing a resilience intervention for chronic lower back pain among older adults. Eligible participants must be 60+ years of age, have lower back pain on most days, and able to attend an 8-week group program in person or online.

If you are interested in hearing about these or other studies, please contact our Study Navigator, Sara Marsh, at
