Join us for LifeSouth's Back to School Backpack Giveaway on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Bradford County Public Library in Starke, FL. The event is free and open to the public, and the first 300 kids will receive a backpack full of school supplies.

HealthStreet Community Health Worker (CHW) Outreach Calendar

CHWs work to improve the health of our community by going out on outreach each week to provide medical and social referrals, build meaningful relationships, and give everyone the opportunity to participate in research. CHWs will be at the following locations this week.

Research Study Opportunities

Below are a few studies that you can participate in now:

+ The Child Hearing Loss study is examining vocabulary and speech learning in children with or without hearing loss. Eligible participants must be caregivers of at least one child 4-6 years of age with hearing loss.

 

+ The Spatial Navigation study is evaluating changes in thinking that relate to difficulty navigating in older adults. Eligible participants must be male, 55-100 years of age, and have at least an 8th grade education.

 

+ The Reproductive Health study wants to work with Black women to discuss their experiences and trust in their reproductive care provider. Eligible participants must be female, Black/African American, 18+ years of age, and live in Alachua County.

 

+ The Vaccine study is determining how cancer patients respond to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccines compared to overall healthy individuals who have received COVID-19 vaccines. Eligible participants must be 25-70 years of age and received 2 or more SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) vaccines within the past 1-6 months.

 

+ The Pain Mechanisms study is seeking healthy controls for their study on chronic pain management. Eligible participants must be 50+ years of age, female, and have no chronic pain.

 

+ The IMPACT study wants to understand joint pain during movement in African Americans. Eligible participants must be 55-90 years of age, non-Hispanic African American, and have knee pain for at least 3+ months.
