Celebrating 13,000 HealthStreet Members

Over the next few weeks we will be celebrating with the community after enrolling 13,000 HealthStreet members. What does it mean to be a HealthStreet member? As a member you have access to a variety of health-related services at no cost, classes, and events at HealthStreet and around Gainesville. We also provide opportunities to hear about research at the University of Florida. Next week we will be having a series of pop up events around town to celebrate this achievement.

Emily Bourlas, a volunteer Community Health Worker who completed the 13,000th assessment afterwards said, "Being a volunteer Community Health Worker at HealthStreet has been one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had. I have had the privilege of speaking to community members from many different parts of Gainesville and learning more about their health concerns and how we can better serve them. My favorite part of volunteering with HealthStreet has been getting to know our community more closely and making health information more accessible. Something as simple as a blood pressure screening can lead to a conversation about better health habits and make all the difference!"

If you would like to become a HealthStreet member or Community Health Worker please call us at 352-294-4880. To participate in research please fill out this form.
