Healthy Vision Month
Healthy Vision Month—a timely reminder to protect your eyes from harmful sun exposure and prioritize routine vision care. While Healthy Vision Month is nationally observed each May, maintaining eye health is essential year-round.
UF HealthStreet is committed to improving access to care across our community. Through our partnership with the Equal Access Clinic (EAC) Eye Clinic, we host services for both pediatric and adult patients, offering vision screenings, exams and referrals in a trusted, community-centered setting.
Regular eye exams do more than update prescriptions—they can help detect early signs of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. By bringing these services directly into the community, HealthStreet helps reduce barriers to care and supports better overall health outcomes.
This summer, take simple steps to protect your vision:
- Wear sunglasses that block 100% of UV rays
- Use wide-brimmed hats when outdoors
- Schedule routine eye exams for you and your family
Clear vision plays a vital role in quality of life. Through partnerships like the EAC Eye Clinic, UF HealthStreet continues to help our community see a healthier future.
Since 2011, UF HealthStreet has given 5,070 vision care referrals, provided 3,461 total on-site vision clinics, and seen 1,709 unique visitors at on-site vision clinics.
