March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, an opportunity for all women to understand more about this condition, what symptoms to look for, and potential treatment options they can discuss with their healthcare providers.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It often causes severe pain in the pelvis, especially during menstrual periods and affects roughly 10% of reproductive age women and girls globally. Below is the reported history of endometriosis among HealthStreet members by age and race. The percent of reported history of endometriosis is highest among White women 46-59 years of age.
