Magee-Womens Research Institute to Offer $1 million Prize for Innovative Women’s Health Research

The Pittsburgh-based Magee-Womens Research Institute is planning to offer the prize to a team of top scientists for innovative research into women’s health when it holds its inaugural research summit next October. The prize winner will partner with Magee researchers.

The main goal of this incentive prize is to improve women’s health across the globe. “9-90” is the focus of the research, meaning the health of a women ranging from nine months of pregnancy to 90 years old. The prize is intended to challenge scientists to bring a visionary statement on what is next in the field and will bring recognition to new researchers.

Details of the prize competition are still being worked out and will be announced in January. The 9-90 research summit will be held Oct. 8-10, 2018 in Pittsburgh.
